Sausage Corn Chowder with Cheesy Mushroom Pitas

Sausage Corn Chowder
This sausage corn chowder is super easy and super delicious! In fact, it’s so easy that I felt like I needed to make some cheesy mushroom pitas to go along with it. You’re going to love them both!
Ingredients

You can’t argue with a recipe for which the only instructions are to mix everything together and let cook. And that’s just what this recipe calls for. Cook up some sausage, chop up a few potatoes, open a couple of cans and you have all the hard work out of the way.

Not only is this recipe is nice because putting it together is such a cinch, but you also have the flexibility of two different cooking options, both of which work wonderfully.

Option A: Mix everything together and cook in a crockpot for 8 hours
Option B: Mix everything together in a big pot and cook on medium high for 30 mins or until potatoes are tender

It’s almost too easy!

Cheesy Mushroom Pitas
These cheesy mushroom pitas are just as easy and delicious as the corn chowder and the two are oh-so-delicious together!
Cheesy Mushroom Pitas
This is definitely one of those recipes that is to be made with whatever you happen to have on hand.  I happened to have half a container of mushrooms, one whole wheat pita, and a small amount of creamy havarti.  If you happen to have french bread and shredded cheddar cheese, make herbed cheesey bread. If you have some ritz crackers, mozzerella and olives, use those.

If nothing else, slap a slice of American cheese on a slice of bread, liven it up with some herbs and go with that. There’s no such thing as a bad bread and cheese combination!

Combine your refrigerator finds with herbs de provence (or other seasoning of your choice) and a dash of black pepper, broil in the oven for a few minutes and, voila, deliciousness!

Sausage Corn Chowder
Verdict: My favorite thing about these two recipes is how simple they both are! And they’re both so delicious! This one gets high thumbs up from everyone in the Torres household (I know, just the two of us). Om nom all the way! Nom Rating: **** (4/5)
