Back when Mr. Torres and I were dating, he gave me one of the sweetest gifts ever.
We had watched the movie UP together and had spent many hours talking about the adventures we had experienced separately and the ones that we hoped to have as a couple.
So the incredibly thoughtful Mr. Torres made an Adventure Book for us to document all the amazing things that we would do together.
We made a list of adventures we wanted to experience and we’ve had so many amazing times together over the last five years.
However, one item that was unchecked until recently was SPONTANEOUS VACATION.
Spontaneous is not a good word for me.
I’m a planner.
I’m an organizer.
I’m a controller.
Spontaneity is not something that I usually do.
But when one of our friends from South Africa said that he was coming to America and wanted to fulfill a childhood dream by visiting Disney World, we knew we had to go.
The fact that everything was going to have to come together in just over a week meant that it could count as our spontaneous vacation:)
We left for Orlando after work/school on Friday, arrived late, woke up early and spent 13 hours at Magic Kingdom, slept, woke up early and spent Sunday at Universal Studios, and then flew home on Monday morning.
In the end, it all came together beautifully and I spent the whole weekend in awe of how wonderful it is that Americans and South Africans can meet each other in Greece and then, six months later, get together for a whirlwind trip to Orlando!
The weekend was so jam-packed full of fun, but I have to admit, it’s nice to have the spontaneous vacation crossed off our adventure list…Mr. Torres and I are already working on our July vacation (6 months out!) and loving it:)
Just let me know if you need any tips for planning your own last-minute Orlando vacation!
