A Day in the Life of Ellis: Four Months

8:00 am

Good morning! Ellis O is awake and ready for the day!

Although he sometimes wakes up before 8 o’clock in the morning, I usually try to put him back to sleep unless it’s 7:30 or later:)

8:30 am

After a few good morning songs, a diaper change, and plenty of milk, it’s play time on the floor while I eat breakfast…chocolate pb Greek yogurt and avocado toast!

With Ellis waking up at 8 o’clock, I’ve usually already eaten and am ready for play time. Unfortunately, Ellis was up more than usual last night (do you think the full moon had anything to do with it?!?), so I slept until 7:30:)

9:00 am

Someone is starting to rub their eyes…it must be getting close to morning nap time!

9:25 am

It’s morning nap time! Which also happens to be morning walk time!

Ten minutes into our walk and Ellis is passed out.

We sleep/walk until 10:50 am.

Once we get inside, Ellis plays for just a bit while I rinse off in the shower and then it’s milk time!

Now for some playing, singing, and reading!

12:00 pm

Ellis is starting to get a little cranky and is rubbing his eyes quite a bit. He usually stays awake a little bit longer before his noon-ish nap, but I’m not going to argue with a baby about sleeping. We head to the nursery to start to get everything ready for siesta #2.

12:30 pm

It took forrrrrrrreverrrrrrrr to get Ellis to actually sleep. He was so tired, but had trouble relaxing into naptime. Sometimes it takes five minutes. Sometimes it takes thirty:P

I took care of some neighborhood business and ate lunch while he slept.

1:18 pm

Ellis is up, but still acting tired. I fed him a bit and then laid him back down.

2:00 pm

Ellis is awake and happy! Playtime!

Time to head to Baby Yoga!

Baby Yoga is a free thirty minute class that takes place at our local library every Friday. Ellis is okay yoga, but what he really enjoys is watching all the other babies!

3:30 pm

Home from yoga and time for another nap! Mr. Torres usually gets to come home early on Fridays, so since he was already home, I got to go for a swim!

4:45 pm

When I walked in the door from swimming, this is what I saw…

Somebody was awake and having fun with Daddy<3

5:00 pm

Games and dinner with our friend Josh:)

7:00 pm

Time for our bedtime routine! We do a bath every other day and on the off days, we do a wipe down with warm water and a washcloth. Then, it’s lotion and stretching followed by jammies and stories with Daddy.

7:40 pm

Lights out and final feed! Goodnight, everyone!

So sweet he is! What a lovely routine your family has. I love that you find time to be active through the day (stroller nap, yoga, swimming). So good for you AND him.

I wish every day was like that Friday was!! The thing about young babies….you know this…is that it feels like every week brings about something new! This week has been all about the ten minutes nap! What in the world!?!?!?! Hopefully this phase will end soon and we’ll get back to a more normal nap schedule:D
